Knowledge is Power

A while ago I was talking about how important it is to be knowledgable about how the “Schools” of aromatherapy work. Basically if you want to know what I was speaking about just go here. The basics here is not talking about actual aromatherapy schools that you would take courses at to become a certified aromatherapist. It is talking about how essential oils are divided by the method you follow with using the EO’s.

Yes there are schools where you take courses and you can become a certified aromatherapist but even before you take courses at one of those it is of vital importance to know the three schools of aromatherapy!

Most of the schools you take courses at are teaching you in the viewpoint of the British methods of aromatherapy. Which then also teaches us what?

If people are not fully educated and don’t understand that there are differences or don’t realize what the real differences are, you can’t understand why some people are writing or making statements the way they do!

Make sure you take the time to educate yourself! Make sure you take the time to understand the difference between British, German and French methods of using essential oils. Make sure you take the time to learn that most schools that you would get an aromatherapy license from is taught in the British method. That means most articles that are written and tell you not to use the essential oils neat or digest them do so because they do not believe in it. They are not using pure therapeutic essential oils.

Beware! Knowledge is Power…. The more you education yourself the better it is when someone asks why such and such article says not to ingest this oil or that, the better it is when someone asks you why YOU apply essential oil’s neat when such and such says…

Three Aromatherapy Schools

Did you know that there are 3 Aromatherapy Schools that have ruled the way essential oils have been used and are still used (to some extent)? Did you know that modern aromatherapy started in the 1920s! Can you believe that? modern aromatherapy has been going on for almost 100 years. That to me is just amazing!

I didn’t either!

Really the book I am reading has some amazing things in it! (Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple; can find it on the YLEO Store page). I am learning a lot of things I didn’t know.

Today though we are just going to talk about the three schools! There is a lot we will be able to build on later because of the knowledge from this!

Personally I follow the French school. This is the method that Young Living believes in. If you purchase any of the dietary oils it covers the internal and most of the other others are going to be aromatic and topical application! Always be sure to read the label so you know the best way to utilize the oils you purchase from Young Living!
