Spring Break Health

Well our spring break is certainly not going as well had planned. We were so excited to be able to go on walks. We were planning a walk to the library. A visit to the zoo. Playing in the yard. Working on soccer and baseball and basketball.

Instead we have been doing things like, reading, writing, talking, laughing, car rides, sleep overs, lunch dates and not much of the outdoor adventures!

We plan on heading over to the local children’s museum. We will find something else to do I am sure!

We are also trying to follow some of these tips about staying healthy on spring break!

Knowledge is Power

A while ago I was talking about how important it is to be knowledgable about how the “Schools” of aromatherapy work. Basically if you want to know what I was speaking about just go here. The basics here is not talking about actual aromatherapy schools that you would take courses at to become a certified aromatherapist. It is talking about how essential oils are divided by the method you follow with using the EO’s.

Yes there are schools where you take courses and you can become a certified aromatherapist but even before you take courses at one of those it is of vital importance to know the three schools of aromatherapy!

Most of the schools you take courses at are teaching you in the viewpoint of the British methods of aromatherapy. Which then also teaches us what?

If people are not fully educated and don’t understand that there are differences or don’t realize what the real differences are, you can’t understand why some people are writing or making statements the way they do!

Make sure you take the time to educate yourself! Make sure you take the time to understand the difference between British, German and French methods of using essential oils. Make sure you take the time to learn that most schools that you would get an aromatherapy license from is taught in the British method. That means most articles that are written and tell you not to use the essential oils neat or digest them do so because they do not believe in it. They are not using pure therapeutic essential oils.

Beware! Knowledge is Power…. The more you education yourself the better it is when someone asks why such and such article says not to ingest this oil or that, the better it is when someone asks you why YOU apply essential oil’s neat when such and such says…

Face Update!

I am having to overcome something I haven’t had to do in over 8 years now. Prior to Young Living Orange Blossom and Juice Plus+ my face would be so dry. I would spend hours in front of a mirror picking the dead skin off my face. It was the only way I could keep pustules from getting worse and making things more difficult.

I find myself still picking at my face. It is this subconscious thing I do now. So instead of it helping my face, it isn’t helping anymore and it is making my face bleed (you can see spots on my face). I really need to focus on what my hands are doing when I am working because that seems to be when I pick the most!

Do you have anything you do that you don’t even realize? I really need to start working on these “little” things!

The Sacrifice

I got to go tonight and see The Sacrifice at our church. It was moving. I had tears at certain parts. I cried at certain parts. I smiled at certain parts. 

Have you ever really thought about the time Jesus walked the earth? I have thought about it but I think the truth is I have avoided it.

I have read about it in the Bible. I however am a very visual person and I only read small bits here and there so I don’t allow myself to get into the visualization mode.

How is it possible that one person loved not only me but everyone that much! I tried tonight to not think and to just watch and enjoy. That is not as easy as it sounds.

I am going to be thankful for a long time that I went and watched. I may even venture out and start watching other things with Jesus in it. I may even allow myself to read in larger chunks so I can visualize what is going on in the Bible.

Jesus took my place. Jesus took my nails from me. Jesus gave me grace. Jesus gave me love. Jesus was my sacrifice. Jesus took my place. Everything wrong I have ever done and ever will do, He took my place and filled God’s wrath so I didn’t have to.

I am blessed. I am beyond blessed that I am so loved.

I Believe

I know not everyone believes in God. I know this because we live in a fallen world. There is evil in the world. There is heartache. I have a child who used to believe and doesn’t anymore. I have a child who believed, didn’t believe and now believes again. I grew up Catholic, never really stopped believe but stopped practicing and then went back and never looked back.

It is okay if you don’t believe. I do not judge you. I love you. I choose to pray for you. I choose to pray that the Holy Spirit move you. It is my choice, just like may be your choice not to believe.

This week though for someone who believes is big. It is bigger than big; it is enormous. This is the week we celebrate Jesus fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies. This is the week Jesus is put to death. This is the week that His blood fulfilled God’s wrath for us. This is the week that He choose to love me over punishment for my sins.

Here comes a honest moment: I have read it. I have thought about it, somewhat. I have never seen TV shows, plays, productions, movies that portray His persecution and death. I have never been able bring myself to do that.

I am not really sure why. I know it is gruesome. It is the most painful and horrific way to die. I am sensitive. I do cry at many things. I don’t like movies where people die, it makes me sad, it makes life real. So maybe I do know why…

Maybe if I were to watch something like that, the reality of what One person did for not only me but the whole world, to save us from our own self. For One person to have so much love to suffer because of what He knew I would choose to do in this lifetime. For One person to believe I was worth saving, worth loving, worth dying for.

Wow….

Tomorrow night starts the Easter production our church is doing. Our daughter is in it and for the first time, I actually bought tickets for my husband and I to go.

I am not completely certain of why I have avoided it all these years. There are many reasons but in my heart maybe it has simply been: I didn’t want to really truly face what HE did for ME. Maybe there is some old stink in me that I haven’t wanted to let go of and so I have really avoided what HE did for ME. Maybe it has been easier to blow up at my children, my husband, or give up on things I know I should not or do things I know I should not because I haven’t faced the truth of what HE did for ME.

No matter, I have felt like this is the year to rip that bandaid off. To face what I have been avoiding. To open my heart and mind fully and embrace what HE did for ME so that WE can have a much closer and fuller relationship.

If you pray I would appreciate prayers tomorrow evening (6-8 PM EST). That this deepens the relationship we have been enjoying and makes it so much more.

My Life Is Not My Own

God knows my heart. God knows my fears. God knows my joys. God knows my sadness.

God knows my biggest fear.

My life is not my own. I have decided to follow Jesus and to have a relationship with the Trinity. That means that my life is not my own. One problem I have is surrendering all to Him (I hope I am not alone on this).

God knows when He is calling each of us home to Him. We do not have control of that. I do not think He orchestrates the circumstances, but He does know when we are coming home.

God knows my biggest fear.

Many around me, who I am either an acquaintance with or friends with have been losing spouses and children. It is so hard for me to see their brokenness. Their hearts are broken. Their sadness is heart wrenching. The suddenness of having to crawl into bed alone or not having the checks to kiss goodnight. How they find the strength to get up each morning to face the world without their loved one.

Yesterday I felt led to get on Facebook. The first post was from the same person. Watching the posts my heart was breaking. When the final post came; a friend was posting it for her and a name came to mind. I text her because they are best friends and I didn’t think she would be online to see what was going on. She called me, she was thankful, and then everything sank into me.

God knows my biggest fear.

I woke up this morning and this was posted:

Josh had the biggest heart for others.
He would wake me up in the night to kneel and pray for you all
He cared so much he would die for you
just like Jesus.

…and his simple prayer that all you would know the Savior.

you can talk to Josh.
You just have to talk to Jesus first.

God knows my biggest fear.

Here this woman has lost her best friend, her spouse, the love of her life and she is posting what his wish was for everyone. She has a heart for God and more importantly even with her breaking heart, she was posting what her husband had wanted for everyone he knew.

She knows she will see her husband again. She knows she will talk to him again. She knows this is not the end of their story together. It is here on earth but this isn’t our real home. Our home is with Jesus.

My biggest fear….

Is having life cut short and losing my husband and my children. It is something I have zero control over. It is something I have never had control over. It is something I struggle with to surrender to God.

Yet around me, so many are dealing with my biggest fear. They grieve, they get angry, they manage to get up each morning and they still believe and surrender their lives to Jesus. They have had no choice but to accept their lives are not their own.

My life is not my own. My loved ones do not belong to me.

I need to let go of things I can not control and I need to focus on things I can control….

• My relationship with Christ
• My prayers
• My time
• My relationship with people

Things I can control. This is not my permanent home, this world is temporary and that means it is temporary for those I love as well.

Enjoy Life

You don’t have to be perfect to enjoy life. You don’t have to be the one with all of the answers.

For me life has not been enjoyable. I deal with a lot of pain and discomfort with my face.

As you can see below in the images, my face is getting better! I am still using the Young Living Orange Blossom Face Wash. But on March 13th our family added Juice Plus+ to our daily routine! I am not sure if you can see what it has done or not but my face is much smoother and the discomfort level is going down with the use of these two products!

Is there anyone in your life who could benefit from any of these amazing products? Most people have no idea how painful these issues can be. I know I didn’t like talking about it, I was embarrassed to even go out. The worst thing that could happen would be someone would comment on my face. What hurt even more was when it was someone who saw me all the time. I would hear things like, “Wow! Amy your face looks really bad today.” I am not kidding!

Everyone had an answer for me as well. Have you stopped eating this? What about stopping to drinking this? Maybe you can try adding this?  What about stress? Are you managing your stress? What about…..

There were times I just wanted to scream and then say something like, “You know after seeing specialists since 2007 and being on every kind of medication possible I can’t believe they never suggested what you are!” Can you hear the sarcasm? There is nothing out there, until these two products I haven’t tried.

Still I never do say anything. I stand there, with my heart breaking, smiling and thanking them for their suggestions.

Right now, my enjoyment of life is coming from the fact that….

• My children can bump my face and I don’t want to cry
• My children can kiss and hug me and I don’t want to cry
• My husband can kiss me with a beard and I don’t want to cry
• My husband can kiss me with scruff and I don’t want to cry
• I can look in a mirror and I don’t want to cry
• I can wash my face and I don’t want to cry

I would also like to point out that I do understand that everyone who says something to me says it because they care. It still hurts to hear it because it just confirms to me that everyone is thinking and focused on my face and not me.
